We believe NDC will play an increasing role in travel distribution and our priority is to ensure that our customers benefit from the opportunities it presents. We have spent the last two years working closely with technology partners and key airline suppliers to ensure we play a key part in shaping the roadmap for NDC. That’s why FCM is excited to partner with Amadeus to help design an NDC-enabled solution in the corporate travel space.
We are committed to ensuring FCM stays ahead of the curve in terms of technology and systems, particularly as the industry moves closer to NDC. This was a big factor in our decision to join Amadeus’ NDC-X program. We wanted a leading technology partner, not just a GDS supplier, who could work with us to drive our business forward with tech innovation for the benefit of our customers.
Together our objective is to find the best possible way to integrate NDC content so that travel agents – whether corporate or leisure – can service their customers quickly and simply, providing them with an even richer choice of fares and the option to book NDC-powered ancillary services within an already familiar working environment.
Because FCM is part of Flight Centre Travel Group, we already offer our clients access to an unrivalled range of airline content. However, by integrating NDC content into our core booking systems, we will be able to personalise the booking experience for our customers even further. This will ensure that we continue to offer the widest choice of content that is appropriate for our corporate customers’ needs.
We have been asked frequently if we are afraid of NDC. But the answer is ‘No’. We see great opportunities and are proud to be on this journey with Amadeus in defining how NDC becomes a reality in the corporate travel sector.
